Urgent Action Needed: Defend Palestinian Human Rights Organizations!
On Friday October 22, the Israeli Defense Ministry declared some of the leading Palestinian human rights groups to be “terrorist organizations”. The list of designated organizations includes: Addameer, al-Haq, Defense for Children International Palestine, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, Bisan Center for Research and Development and the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees. These are groups which have been documenting and exposing Israel’s grave violations of human rights. If this declaration is allowed to stand, it opens the way for way for Israeli authorities to raid their offices, seize assets, arrest staff and criminalize any public expressions of support for the groups.
