[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]The Israel-Palestine Committee of Brooklyn For Peace strives to provide accurate and unbiased information about the conflict in Israel, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and the region, and to organize and encourage actions leading to justice with peace in the region. We encourage an exchange of views among all Brooklyn residents, many of whom have roots and family connections in Israel or Palestine.

Brooklyn For Peace’s initial position statement (Sept 22, 2013) set forth our stance supporting equal rights, international law, and a negotiated solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Following the terrible events of October 7, 2023, and as we are witnessing what the International Criminal Court has determined is plausibly a genocide, we called for a ceasefire, deescalation, and addressing the root causes of violence in Palestine and Israel.  An updated position statement  (U.S. Must Stop Enabling Israeli Genocide, Halt All Military Assistance, and Stand for Equal Rights and International Law) was posted on May 24, 2025. More information and historical background is here.

The Israel-Palestine Committee meets monthly on weekday evenings to develop educational materials and to plan activities such as forums, meetings with elected officials, vigils, and demonstrations. We participate with other groups in interfaith dialogues and other activities.

We also sponsor a reading group to educate ourselves about the history of this conflict and the many complexities of the current situation.

Anyone interested in our work is welcome to attend a meeting to learn more about getting involved.
