Since 2017 U.S. citizens have been prohibited from traveling to North Korea. The travel ban has prevented separated Korean Americans from reuniting with their family members in North Korea, hindered humanitarian organizations from delivering critical assistance, and obstructs U.S. citizens from engaging in people-to-people exchanges and peace-building efforts. This is yet another tragic cost of the unresolved 70-year-old Korean War.
