Tues. Dec. 10, 12noon—1:00pm: Never Again to Nuclear War! Honor Nihon Hidankyo, Atomic Bomb Survivors, Nobel Peace Prize Awardees

Honor the memory of those who lost their lives to the atomic bombings, and celebrate this year’s Nobel Peace Prize awardees, Nihon Hidankyo, the atomic bomb survivors’ group in Japan, for their decades-long efforts demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again.
Join this gathering at the Japanese Consulate, 299 Park Ave, between 48th and 49th St. In Manhattan.
Next year will mark the 80th Anniversary of the atomic bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. It is estimated that the bombs killed 210,000 people by the end of 1945, and over the years, they have ruined the health of many survivors. The average age of the Hibakusha, or atomic bomb survivors, is now 85.5 years old, and many of them are still suffering from terrible health issues
