These alarming truths call for our collective response and unwavering determination to bring about change.That’s why we are proud to support the Not On Our Dime! Act. This groundbreaking legislation seeks to disrupt the flow of funds from New York to Israeli settlements which are illegal under international law.

Last week, New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani boldly introduced this transformative bill, surrounded by fervent supporters from Adalah Justice Project, JVP-NYC, the Center for Constitutional Rights, Palestinian Youth Movement, the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, NYC Democratic Socialists of America, and many others.
This legislation is not only a milestone for New York state but also a beacon of hope across the nation. It signifies the first active support for Palestinian freedom within New York and sets a precedent for future bills. Not only does it prevent tax-deductible donations from supporting the expulsion of Palestinians from their land and other war crimes, but it also empowers New York’s attorney general to take legal action against groups funding settlements. Moreover, it provides an avenue for Palestinians affected by the impacts of settler violence to seek justice and reparations in U.S. courts.
