On Thursday, March 25 from 5 PM – 6 PM. This week marks 6 years since the Saudi-led coalition, (backed by the US, UK, France, Canada, and Italy,) intervened in Yemen’s civil war. Although the Biden/Harris administration has announced an end to sale of US “offensive” weapons to Saudi Arabia, it has not used its diplomatic leverage to force Saudi Arabia to end the blockade. Join us on Thursday, March 25, from 5-6pm, in front of the UK Mission to the UN, 885 2nd Ave, between 47th and 48th St, Manhattan, in NYC to demand an end to Western backing of the war. The UK is the penholder on the UN Security Council for Yemen, which means they lead in the negotiations and drafting of Council agenda items that pertain to Yemen. We demand that the UK use this power to write a resolution promoting peace in Yemen and make a public statement about withdrawing support for the war, following in the footsteps of the US and the European Union. RSVP HERE.
