Silent Solemn Processional to Mourn Children Killed in Gaza and Israel, and to Protest Genocide in Gaza

December 28, 2023 @ 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Please join us in this SILENT, SOLEMN PROCESSIONAL to mourn the children killed in Gaza and Israel and to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Gather at 12 noon, Thursday, December 28, in southwest corner of Bryant Park (40th St & 6th Ave.) We will be calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to US military support of Israel. We will be creating a solemn mournful moving presence in the heart of Manhattan. We will wear black and carry shrouded effigy “children”, to identify a few of the thousands of children who have been killed. After a short procession we will lay the shrouded children to rest in an open area where many can see. We will be underlining the humanity of Gazans, the hopes and dreams of the children now extinguished. Please RSVP here for further information and to let us know that you’ll be there.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO chants, NO singing, NO noise, just silence, with exception of a slow drum beat, NO flags, No posters, No banners – except for a very few brought by the organizers. Please wear black as much as possible. All are welcome to attend, regardless of background: but if you cannot follow this protocol please do not attend. This event could be disturbing and upsetting for children, so please use judgment if you are considering bringing a child.
