BFP Forum: US Policy on Palestine & Israel
November 10, 2022 @ 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
What is the impact of current US policy toward Palestine & Israel? How can grassroots organizers can effectively advocate for policies that promote peace, justice, and human rights?
What opportunities do we have and what challenges do we face in the new Congress, as well as the Biden administration?
Our speakers, Sandra Tamari and Beth Miller, will address these critical questions amidst the current political landscape in the US and what is happening on the ground in Palestine.
Sandra Tamari is Executive Director of Adalah Justice Project. A Palestinian organizer, based in St. Louis, she is a co-founder of the St. Louis Palestine Solidarity Committee and was co-chair of the Steering Committee for the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights from 2015-2018. The murder of Mike Brown in Ferguson in August 2014 greatly impacted Sandra’s work, and since then she has focused on building joint liberation efforts between Palestinians and Black communities. She was a lead organizer of the Palestinian contingent to Ferguson October in 2014.
Beth Miller is Senior Government Affairs Manager with Jewish Voice for Peace.
