SAT: Rally and Flotilla to Save the River!
Cortlandt Waterfront Park, in Verplanck
Saturday, May 6 @ 2:00 pm
Holtec International is planning to discharge 1 million gallons of radioactive water into the Hudson River as part of its decommissioning process. Their argument is that this is a low level of radiation, that they have been doing it continuously since the plant opened, and that there are no other viable options. The Town of Cortlandt, as well as multiple local other municipalities and agencies, strongly objects! A safer alternative is to store it on site in large tanks.
Join this rally to protest! We anticipate thousands in attendance. Musicians: Dar Williams, Brian McGrath, Fred Gillen, Jr, and Tom Chapin.
Large Flotilla on the river—Dozens of Yacht clubs, Rowing Associations, Fisherman, Kayakers, etc.
Children’s activities – Including Face Painting; Cornhole; Hula hoops. Please join us!
