Sat-Honoring the anti-war legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
January 19, 2023 @ 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
MLK’s anti-war and anti-imperialist legacy has been erased from history books. MLK reminded us that “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today is my own government.” Everyone wants to claim his legacy but very few want to practice what he preached. Learn the truth! Join us for a discussion on MLK’s anti-war, anti-militarist positions, including his opposition to the U.S. war against Vietnam, which caused liberal news publications like the New York Times to smear and attack him. We will connect these themes to the military’s recruitment of youth in the South Bronx.
