Press Conference, Rally, & Vigil: Demand NYC City Council Call for Ceasefire!

Join Brooklyn For Peace and many other organizations in the NYC4Ceasefire Coalition to call on our city council to pass a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. At least 65 other cities, including Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, Oakland – and here in NY, both Albany and Newburgh City–have passed similar resolutions.
Over 30,000 Palestinians, 18,000 of whom are children, have been killed in the past 4 months of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, fully funded and supported by the US government. We need to make clear to our representatives on the city council that we support a permanent ceasefire and an end to US support for these war crimes.
10:00 am: Join us at a press conference: Broadway side of City Hall (at Murray St.) Following the press conference, we will move to the Brooklyn Bridge side of City Hall for a vigil that will continue until 10 am the next morning. As residents of New York City, we gather at this vigil to mourn, express grief, and remember by reading aloud the known names of the 30,000 Palestinians killed during this ongoing genocide. Join the vigil for as long or as short a time as you wish. If you can volunteer to assist in anchoring the vigil, sign up here.
