Noon–4:00 pm: Join a coalition of peace organizations for Inspired by Our Past, Organizing for Our Future, a virtual symposium to discuss the legacy of the June 12, 1982 anti-nuclear march & rally that drew more than one million demonstrators to Central Park, NYC. Learn from the organizers who put together the 1982 march and from activists who continue to work for the total elimination of nuclear weapons. Presenters and panelists include Vincent Intondi, author of African Americans Against the Bomb; activist Leslie Cagan, an original organizer of the 1982 march; Katrina vanden Heuvel, publisher of the Nation magazine; civil rights leader Rev. Herbert Daughtry; and many more.
