SATURDAYS- SEPT & OCT: BFP Outreach and Vigil for Peace in Ukraine
September 10, 2022 @ 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
With the incorporation of traditionally neutral Finland and Sweden into NATO, the increased encirclement of Russia ensures that the war in Ukraine will be a long, protracted and brutal one, drawing in more countries in Europe and possibly the US in open conflict. The threat of a nuclear war is high! The antiwar movement needs to be urgently mobilized here in the US, in Europe, and worldwide.
Join us on Saturdays in September and October (starting Sept 10), in front of the Library at Grand Army Plaza. We’ll be holding a banner and signs, and distributing this flyer, urging a cease-fire and serious negotiations to end this war, which is killing thousands of people, displacing millions, and causing hunger, inflation, and increased militarism around the world.
Brooklyn for Peace strongly condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (see our statement.) However, we also believe the priority of the U.S. at this time should be the encouragement of a cease-fire and energetic diplomacy, designed to create long-term peace.

What can YOU do?
Join us on Saturdays in September and October (starting September 10,) to make our voice for peace as loud as possible, and to build the anti-war movement here in Brooklyn. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know when you’ll be able to join so that we can be in touch in case of any change in plan because of serious inclement weather.
