Congress Must Halt This War!

President Trump’s unprovoked, unilateral, illegal attack on Iran follows more than eighteen months in which the US government has enabled Israel’s commission of war crimes. In adopting Netanyahu’s agenda, he has now paved the way for American casualties, and more death and suffering across the entire Middle East.

While running for office on the promise of halting “endless wars,” Trump’s actions betray that commitment to his supporters.

It is urgently important that Congress take a firm stand against President Trump’s violation of the Constitution and prohibit further acts of war.

Up to this point, Democratic leaders, located here in Brooklyn – Senator Charles Schumer, Representatives Hakeem Jeffries and Daniel Goldman- have uncritically supported Israel with billions of dollars of weapons, despite the killing and starvation of thousands of Palestinian children. They need to stand up now!! And promote legislation that will tie the President’s hands! Their constituents have been clear —war with Iran is irresponsible and dangerous! It must be stopped now.
