Brooklyn For Peace Condemns Illegal Airstrikes in Iraq and Syria
Brooklyn For Peace strongly condemns President Biden’s illegal airstrikes in Iraq and Syria. These raids were conducted without the required congressional authorization and, apparently, without even consultation. They are likely to provoke retaliation and, rather than preventing future hostilities, make them more likely. They make a return to the Iran nuclear agreement less likely. We urge members of Congress to speak out against these airstrikes and to demand that they be discontinued. We also urge Congress to repeal the 2001 AUMF (Authorization for the Use of Military Force) that has been abused to justify similar military actions.
