Action Alert: Repeal the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF)

Let’s urge Sen. Schumer to follow through on his promise to get the 2002 AUMF (used to authorize the war in Iraq) off the books! Pick up the phone now.
*Call Senator Schumer’s office now at (202) 224-6542*
Here’s what to say: (Leave a message if necessary)
“Hello, my name is __________________. I’m a [veteran, teacher, nurse, etc.] and I live in [city/town, New York].
“We are in a critical moment to repeal the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force against Iraq. Congress authorized the disastrous war in Iraq 20 years ago, and now we can get this dangerous law off the books for good. And with the midterm election results still up in the air, it’s especially urgent to repeal the 2002 AUMF this year, or the window of opportunity may close.
“I understand that we can repeal this dangerous law through several year-end bills currently being negotiated, such as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). I urge Majority Leader Schumer to: 1) use his leading position in the Senate to secure the 2002 AUMF repeal by whatever necessary route, and 2) vote for NDAA amendments that CUT excessive military spending. Thank you.”
After you hang up, share this message with a friend, and ask them to make the call!
